A new information technology service centre will be officially opened in Ballarat today, adding $61 million to the region&aposs economy over the next five years and 300 jobs to an area of Victoria where unemployment is an ongoing problem.
The University of Ballarat and IBM Australia will construct a new $10.8 million IT Services Centre at the University of Ballarat Technology Park (UBTP). Made possible with the support of IBM Australia, Victorian Government, University of Ballarat and City of Ballarat, the Centre will lead to the creation of 300 new jobs.
Innovative IT enterprises within the University of Ballarat Technology Park (UBTP) have announced leading edge technology advances that have international potential.
UBTP welcomes new commercial tenants in Advanced VTOL Technologies, Uniti, Internet Commerce Security Laboratory, Recovre, Juggernaut and Gogofrog.
