Advanced VTOL Technologies Pty Ltd

Advanced VTOL Technologies Pty Ltd Ondeck helicopter-ship dynamic simulation analysis helps to mitigate the risk of operating helicopters from ships. This is achieved by utilising a specifically developed advanced simulation tool (Ondeck) that can accurately model the dynamic interaction between a helicopter and ship to establish safe ship motion operating limits and provide operational guidance. The Ondeck model was initially developed by the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).

For over 10 years AVT has provided analysis services using the Ondeck software and has assisted the Australian Defence Force, as well as other defence forces including the Danish Navy, Swedish Navy and the New Zealand Navy.

The Internet Commerce Security Laboratory

The Westpac Banking Corporation, IBM Australia and the University of Ballarat (UB), have joined forces with the Victorian Government to forge an internationally significant research alliance to tackle cybercrime. The alliance is funding the operations of the Internet Commerce Security Laboratory (ICSL) to identify best practise processes and develop the next generation of Internet security solutions with the aim of staying one step ahead of the cybercrime associated with internet commerce.

The focus of the ICSL is on addressing critical Internet security issues for Australian businesses and consumers, particularly financial institutions and users of Internet banking and financial services.

Bring together Australian expertise from banking and IT, in the private sector and adademia, the ICSL collaboration aims to drive research into solutions which will continually strengthen the security of online transactions, and believes the output of the project will have international significance.
