Festival to showcase innovation
Tips from those in the know will help Ballarat businesses become stronger, smarter and more sustainable at this year’s Ballarat Innovation Festival.
Yesterday’s launch of the festival, featured one of Ballarat’s successful local Innovators, Advanced VTOL Technologies.
Director, David Howe, was on hand to explain their work with helicopter technology, in particular their simulation tool, Ondeck, and prototype vertical take off and landing aircraft, the Hammerhead.
“There’s still a long way to go, but we’ve done about 50 hovering flights so far.”
Mr Howe said the Ballarat Technology Park provided great incentives for innovation in technology.
The festival will feature more than 11 events from May 5 to May 16.
Ballarat Mayor, Cr Judy Verlin, said Ballarat was a city that valued its innovative thinking and had a culture in which great ideas came to life.
