IBM Ballarat
The leading enterprise on the UBTP is IBM's headquarters for computing services for South East Asia. Services available for customers in Australia as well as for IBM worldwide include: application management services, a customer care management centre, technical software services, database and data communications services, technical consulting services, security services, storage services and project management.
IBM's Client Service Centre, which provides helpdesk facilities to over 80 clients across a range of industries, was announced joint-winner of the National Award for Excellence in Customer Service. This achievement is the latest in a series of service excellence milestones for the regional facility, which IBM operates in partnership with the University of Ballarat’s School of Information Technology & Mathematical Sciences, with support from the Victorian State Government.

State Revenue Office
The State Revenue Office (SRO) is a $5million world-class purpose built revenue collection facility employing over 200 staff. SRO relocated 40 per cent of its operations from Melbourne CBD to UBTP, creating more than 180 skilled employment opportunities for people from the local region.
The Ballarat facility houses the majority of the SRO’s operations area and utilises state-of-the art technology. UBTP was chosen as a result of a feasibility study that identified Ballarat as the ideal regional centre to host the new SRO facility.
The UBTP enables SRO to be in close proximity to an existing cluster of business and technology initiatives, as well as education and training opportunities for staff at the nearby University of Ballarat.

IBM - Regional Software Solutions Centre
The RSSC, with approx 200 staff today, also enables IBM to offer clients a world class, lower cost, regional centre that provides a wide range of innovative Application Management Services offerings.
In late 2004 Optus awarded IBM a three-year services contract that specifically centred around software development and maintenance being shifted from its Sydney offices to RSSC Ballarat, where the cost of doing business is significantly lower. This contract was extended for another 2 years in
2007. Today Optus is one of a number of clients that leverage the low cost advantage of the IBM Regional Software Solutions Centre in Ballarat.

Rural Ambulance Victoria
Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV) provides a quality ambulance service which meets the needs of people in rural, regional and remote areas of Victoria. RAV’s head office located on the UBTP provides all management, administration and financial support for eight geographic rural operations areas. The Technology Services Division based at Ballarat develops strategies, and implements support systems for the organisation as a whole and individual divisions. To undertake these tasks the division has a team of more than 20 communications and IT professionals.

ID Research
IDR develops and manufactures digital film glass products with their unique Polymer Dispersed LCD technology. The patented conductive inter-layer, composed of polymer and liquid crystals, and a proprietary production process enables the manufacture of large panels that have application in a number of rapidly expanding markets.
Production facilities and equipment at the UBTP have been commissioned and were completed in 2005. The inter-layer has application in residential, commercial, automotive and aircraft windows, interiors, skylights, as well as video projection screens, and other light transmission control devices.

Emergency Services Telecommunication Authority
The Emergency Services Telecommunication Authority (ESTA) is a statutory authority that has the responsibility for the ongoing delivery of emergency communications to the public and Victoria's emergency service organisations. ESTA provides Triple Zero call taking and dispatches event information to the police, fire brigade, ambulance service and the SES.
In doing this, it is responsible for the staff, technology and operational advancements that allow emergency services to arrive at the right place, on time and with vital information and critical support. The purpose built State Emergency Communications Centre located in the UBTP has redundancy capabilities that surpass many standards on an international level. As a state-of-the-art facility with a 4-star energy rating, ESTA demonstrates its pursuit for excellence in every facet of its business.
While there are two pre-existing metropolitan based communication centres, this new facility has provided the ability to take Triple Zero calls from anywhere in the state for any emergency right here at Mt Helen.
